Joined one of Turkey's pioneering internet news organizations in 2002. Advanced through Content Editor (2002-2007), News Director (2008-2010) and Head of Publishing (2010-2016) roles. Led editorial operations, SEO strategy, news production, CMS optimization, content strategy, team leadership (20+ staff), budget management and technical infrastructure.
Oversaw operations producing 200+ articles daily across 5 digital properties serving millions of monthly unique visitors. Built workflows balancing editorial quality with operational efficiency. Work recognized by Economy Journalists Association, Consumer Law Institute and Spinal Cord Paralytics Association for editorial standards and digital accessibility.
Parallel Creative & Production Track
Entered media in 2000 through television production, print journalism and broadcast newsrooms. Formal education in journalism, photography (Kocaeli University) and public administration (Anadolu University).
Began professional video production in 2007. Between 2008-2011, wrote and directed theatrical stage shows combining political commentary with popular culture. Developed documentary-style content formats alongside publishing responsibilities.
2016-Present: vyla! & Strategic Communication
Founded "vyla" (evolved from earlier iterations: Vaveyla, VMD) in 2016. Initial focus: digital transformation consulting, social media management. By 2024, narrowed to core strength: strategic communication combined with documentary-style content production.
Led creative direction and project delivery for Redstar Aviation (brand transformation films), Gulf Helicopters (heritage storytelling), İmar A.Ş. and Kiptaş (public sector urban development narratives), Kastamonu Entegre (corporate digital presence, U.S. market localization) and Turkcell (digital capability workshops). Employer brand programs for ASELSAN, Sabancı DX, Türk Telekom, Odeabank and Danone. Operational partnerships with Honda Türkiye and Dagi.
Currently focused on strategic communication where content serves as the vehicle for brand value and stakeholder engagement. Exploring AI applications in content strategy, production workflows and audience analysis through hands-on experimentation and workflow integration.
Beyond Work
Outside of work, I'm drawn to the same things that shape it: culture, politics, visual storytelling and the ways people make sense of the world around them. I enjoy cooking, long conversations and, perhaps most of all, seeing everyday life with fresh eyes through time spent with my young son—an experience that keeps curiosity, perspective and a sense of wonder close at hand.
